Summer Camp Ardèche, France
Down river we go!
The good times keep coming. Today's activities have been a highlight for all from the week so far. All 3 activity groups spent the day together, starting after breakfast with a visit to Vallon village and the weekly Thursday market, followed by the Mini Descente canoe adventure.
Campers enjoyed the vibrant energy of Vallon on the warm morning, indulging crepes, ice cream, and buying souvenirs and gifts for those at home. The beautiful village offers a perfect setting for exposure to french village life, in architecture, language and food, with cobbled stone streets and cafe abound. Group Les Francais also completed a quiz about the village whilst on their travels, making for an educational twist on the trip.
The weather here in the Ardeche is getting increasingly warm, so having had lunch the Mini Descente canoe trip was a perfect way to spend the afternoon. Campers were escorted by the Mama Duck Team through the winding gorges of the Ardeche River, and navigated through rapids safely thanks to the tremendous River Team.
Paddling was interjected with regular swim breaks along the river to cool down, and hilarious water fights! The level of cooperation and support among all campers reached new heights, and a successful descent along a stunning river was enjoyed.
