It's BIG DAY!

Many staff along with returning campers would have to agree that one of the most important and fun days at Village Camps would have to be Friday. What is going on Friday that is so significant, you might ask yourself? If you don???t already know, it???s Big Day at Village Camps!

This much anticipated day is always regarded as the highlight of every session. Campers along with counsellors are divided into different colours where they compete to win a much loved prize - pizza party. However, things have been changed up just a little bit for this session. Since this session has a great number of kids, the camp program director decided that it would be best to add a new color to the already well established colors that have ruled VC for many years. White color has joined the ranks to compete for the bragging rights.

After the all camp meeting, it was time to get ready and practice the march, the performance and of course the never ending and always amusing chants. There were a total of 6 teams and every single team had different themes that they drew out of a box. There were the red vikings, the yellow wizards, the white dinosaurs, the black superheroes, the blue pirates, and the green vampires.

All the colours had taken the stage one at a time and did their march and performance in front of the whole camp. All teams did a great job, but in the end there could only be one winner that could win the entrance. And the winning team was - the white dinosaurs. Most have agreed that it was one of the best entrances of all time!

After each team showed their entrances, it was time for the Big Day relay race. There were over 5 different races that were fun and very different from one another. Campers along with the counsellors had to do their best to be able to win for their team. Everyone had a great time and enjoyed all the relay races, however it was too close to call which colour was winning at that time. The most famous game of VC would help to decide which team would come out on top.

After dinner, all the campers made their way back to the pitch to play the much anticipated and exciting game of all time. Kunkin! All the colours would have to play each other to determine the Big Day winner. The battle for first place was not an easy win, but only one team was going to take the crown. The first time in Village Camp history, it was the White team who won Bid Day session 2!

In the end, it was an amazing day filled with many emotions, excitement, and competitions. All the campers had an amazing time filled with many fun memories. Now, it is pretty evident why Big Day rules Village Camps!
