Summer Camp England

1st August 2010

Relax Day

August at Village camps kicked off with a nice relaxing day for both campers and staff. The campers were given a lie in until 9am, which they deserved after a long week of tiring activities. Breakfast was a typical English breakfast, which was yummy.

After breakfast the campers cleaned their rooms for the clean room competition (any suggestions for a name change would be appreciated) After a nice slow morning the campers went to lunch and then headed straight to the secret garden to catch the buses to York.

In York the colour groups were split into small groups and explored York through a new and improved super scavenger hunt. The scavenger hunt involved groups taking photos with policemen, collecting Yorkshire puddings and other random English objects. After the scavenger hunt, the campers were given a period of time to go and shop and enjoy the festivities in York, which included a brass band.

After arriving back to Queen Ethelburga???s college the groups went to dinner and were then given some free time to relax and reflect on the purchases! The evening session was a wonderful talent night, campers showed off their talents, which consisted of a guitarist, pianist, magicians, singers, dancers and some skits. They were all very impressive and showed a lot of confidence to get up in front of their friends.

The day was long and the campers were very tired at the end of it and enjoyed a nice early night!
