Summer Camp England

1st July 2012

ARRIVALS DAY

Welcome to Village Camps York 2012. It is with great excitement that we welcome 212 campers from around the world today. Our staff have been busy preparing the beautiful Queen Ethelsburga Campus to make each and every child welcome and happy. We greeted many old friends (past campers) and already have made new friends, with so many big smiles and great attitudes.

I know it is very hard for some children to travel so far away from home to join us at camp, but you can rest easy knowing that our caring counsellors will do everything to make your children's first night an easy one. When our campers arrived today they participated in Arts & Crafts Activities, football games, mini golf, table tennis and Ice Breaker games.

We had a lovely BBQ lunch today, although the English Summer weather was not very good to us today. It was dry, but it was also cold. At dinner, we had a hearty and warming traditional Roast dinner.

Sunday, the 1st of July, 2012, would not have been complete if we did not give our camper's a chance to watch the European Championships between Spain and Italy. We even set up the brand new 200 seat tiered theatre for the campers to watch. Again, 2012 in York promises to be a very exciting Summer with a fantastically energetic and enthused staff who eagerly await the opportunity to start our programmes on Monday morning. Our aim is to provide our campers with the best summer experience ever, and we will not be resting until we achieve this. Bring on the Summer of 2012 Session One in York, England!!!
