Summer Camp England

12th July 2012

Excursions!

Yesterday the majority of our morning programmes were on excursions! The football programme went to Manchester to visit Old Trafford, they got to see the museum, and had a guided tour of the stadium, they were extremely well behaved and all had a brilliant day seeing where some of their heroes had played! Activity and Adventure have just come back from their excursion, which was a camp out! They spent yesterday hiking and climbing, then had a camp fire for dinner (with toasted marshmallows of course!) before bunking down for the night in tents! There were a lot of some what sleepy smiles when they finally returned to camp today at lunchtime! The English programme, spent the majority of the day at Harewood House, a big public mansion, located 50 minutes away. The campers got a tour of the house, getting to see some incredibly flambouyant rooms and priceless works of art. As well as going round the gardens. A favourite of everyone was visiting the endangered breeding programme for birds, and getting to see the penguins! Our evening activities all went very well. The Leadership programme stepped up and ran the evening activity for the yellows, and they did brilliantly, the yellows all had a great time. While the reds played a game of Murder Mystery, running around campus, trying to find the murderer (it was Glenn, in Genesis with a banana!) This afternoon everyone is waiting with baited breath for the camper vs. counsellor football and basketball matches! Good luck everyone!
