Summer Camp England
Goodbye session 2, Hello session 3!
Friday marked the last day of session 2. In the morning, campers went to their programmes as usual, to have a final morning of activities with their groups! In the afternoon things were a little different, after the morning programme the reds all met in the Secret Garden, and got on a coach to go to York and see the Performing Arts show! The yellows and blues stayed on campus, and were given some time to pack up their rooms and have a final clearout. At 2pm it was then their turn to head off to the show. The performace was absolutely brilliant, based on the themes of speed-dating and travel, it was both hilariously funny and informative, the underlying message; get out and experience the world, because you don't know what you're missing until you do! So thank you and congratulations to the Performing Arts crew of campers and counselors who all did a fantastic job! After the show, we had our Awards night, where each programme and colour group, gets up on stage and talks a little bit about what they do, and recognises the achievements of their campers! Following the awards everyone got dressed up and headed to the last night Disco! With one of our own yellow campers as DJ, the night was a huge success, and everyone made the most of the last few hours they had together! Session 2 was a brilliant session and will be much missed! That brings us to session 3, our final session here at VC York! And we have started with a bang, the first morning has been brilliant, all the campers and counselors have been motivated and enthusiastic! The campers started their morning programmes today, riders and golf left early at 8:45am to go to the off site facilities we use, and will be back soon. Football spent the morning getting to know eahc other and their coaches with a few drills and a match! Activity and advneture had a morning of team-building exercises, to help all the campers get to know each other! This afternoon we have more activities, and this evening campers will be back in their colour groups for an evening of games and "get to know you" activities! Very excited for the next two weeks, have a great time everyone!
