Summer Camp Leysin, Switzerland

19th July 2010

We are now into the second week.

It was another beautiful day in Leysin, the sun has been shining all day long. The Greens started the day by getting creative in the art room, they tie-dyed t-shirts and created collages. The sports campers showed off their skills on the basketball court, the language campers continued with their French and English lessons and dance campers kept practising for their performance at the end of the session. The Yellow and Red adventure campers took a short walk up to the quarry where they had fun scaling the rock face and the Blue adventure campers set out on an adventure where they camped out.

After refuelling with lunch the activities continued. The Blues hiked up to a small Swiss cheese factory, the hike wound its way up the mountain and the reward for reaching the top was cheese and ice cream. The Yellows and Reds had a choice of loads of activities for the afternoon including bouldering, climbing football, kick boxing, mountain biking, swimming, dance and many more. The little Greenies had some time for shopping in the beautiful village of Leysin then took to ice for some ice skating.

The evening held even more fun for our campers, the Blues had a campfire where they enjoyed chocolate bananas and marshmallows. The Yellows skipped dinner in the building and had a cook out in the woods. The Reds headed down to the ice rink and the Greens played a favourite game of one of their counsellors called Terminator.
