Summer Camp Leysin, Switzerland

22nd July 2010

The raid stayed away until midday!

When it rains it pours. We have had a good run of great weather this session however the rain had to come eventually, it was threatening all morning, then the heavens finally opened at 2pm. By this time all the campers were inside the building ready to start their afternoon activities.

The Greens started their day by getting ready for the International Night, they had a great time creating a performance with Dancing Lisa and they spent time in the kitchen creating fruit kebabs for everyone to enjoy in the evening. The Yellow, Red and Blue sports campers all played beach volleyball and street hockey and all the adventure campers had to complete a challenging obstacle course.

The afternoon was dedicated to International Night preparation, half of the represented countries headed down to the kitchen to create cuisine from their chosen countries. Some campers were in the art room creating props for the skits they performed in the evening and others were putting finishing touches to their skits before they had to be presented in front of the whole camp.

The evening activities started at meal time, we had a massive choice of food from around the world that had been cooked by the campers. After everyone had sampled the eclectic mix of cuisines, we all headed down to the auditorium to watch the skits from each country.
