Summer Camp Leysin, Switzerland

9th August 2010

First Full Day of Activities

This was the first full day of activities in our last session, this session has the least amount of campers so far which means it already feels like one big family here at Village Camps, Leysin.

This morning was dedicated to settling people into their chosen camps, Sports and Adventure camp had a morning of team building games, the Dance campers met with Dancing Lisa, the Language campers were introduced to their teachers and had their first lessons and the Tennis campers headed down to the courts to meet with Steve Loft who runs the Californian Tennis Academy.

After an all camp meeting the afternoon activities could start. The Yellows had an afternoon of indoor climbing and a tour around the beautiful village of Leysin. The Reds had a small trek to Fabiola where they played various games designed to get everyone involved and learn each others names. The Blues walked down into the village for a photo scavenger hunt, they had a list of photos they needed to capture then the photos will be judged and a winner will be announced in the near future.

There were two evening activities, Dodgeball for the Red and Blue campers and Blue Meanies for the Yellows. Blue meanies is a great game loved by staff and returning campers, the kids have to search the building for hidden counsellors then get a signature from then. Here is the twist, if the kids are found by one of the roaming Blue Meanies their list of signatures can be crossed out.
