Summer Camp Leysin, Switzerland
Excursion Day!
Today was Excursion Day for all the campers, it gives the kids a chance to get out of Leysin and experience something new. All the campers are able to sleep in a little, have a late breakfast and start their activities later than usual.
The Green and Yellows had a very exciting day, they started their day with shopping in the beautiful lake side town of Vevey. After enjoying their packed lunches down by the river they hopped back on their coach and headed for Labyrinth Adventure Parc. Once there they were free to roam the park and the maze and play with all the super cool goodies. Before the day was out all the kids and counsellors came together for a massive water fight.
The Reds started their day at the Cailler Chocolate Factory, they first took a tour of the building which included an interactive history of Cailler and a look at the process of creating the delicious chocolates. The last room the kids entered was the tasting room, they first learnt how to taste the chocolate they then were set free on over 20 different varieties of Cailler chocolate. After lunch all the campers headed to Vevey for shopping in the town and swimming in Lake Geneva.
The Blues jumped on a bus and spent their morning and early afternoon at the Montreux Jazz Festival, they were able to explore the free music and the market style stalls. They then went on Lausanne where they experienced the closing ceremony of Gymnaestrada ( http://www.wg-2011.com/en/home.html) in the Olympic Stadium. Once the ceremony was over they headed to the after part where they were given money to get food and and enjoy the festivities.
