Summer Camp Leysin, Switzerland

26th July 2011

The Sun is Shining in Switzerland

As the third day of camp rolls around we can see that the campers have settled in and now understand the routine of camp life.

The wonderful weather has made all our great outdoor activities possible. The Yellow and Blue Adventure campers set out on hike to the mountain hut where they will be spending the night. The Red Adventure kids headed down to the forest to play Lost; they were in a plane crash scenario so they had to find materials to build fire and shelter. As always the hotel was a hive of activity with all the fun being had in the language classes and the dance camp. The Greens had an exciting morning of tennis and swimming with their counsellors. The Tennis campers had a special excursion to Gstaad for the famous tennis tournament.

After a revitalising lunch and the all camp meeting the afternoon activities could begin. The Greens had a tour of the village and had a chance to do some shopping then went to the sports centre for indoor climbing. The Yellows all came together for a hike, they walked up to Le Temely which is a fromagerie nestled in the hillside above Leysin. The Reds and Blues had a choice of loads of varied and great activities ranging from kick boxing to climbing to dance to swimming.

This evening was the Reds turn to head down to the gym to play dodgeball, after the kids had played against each other the counsellors challenged all the Reds to a game. The Blues had an amazing trivia night, where they earned points which they could spend on materials for a challenge at the end of the night. The Yellows stayed in the hotel for challenging night of Murder Mystery.
