Summer Camp Leysin, Switzerland
Festival Friday!
As if on cue, the sun returned for the climactic end to the first week of session three... Festival Friday!
The day for the Greenies started very differently to the rest, with them waking up in the mountain hut. Their rain-dance of the previous night paid off and they woke to blue skies and a new warmth with the sun shining on the hills and valleys lying beyond the balcony. After breakfast and games they returned to camp to join the rest.
Meanwhile back at camp the Blue Adventure campers had a morning of mountain biking, the Reds went climbing in the quarry and the Yellows learnt how to survive in the wild. As usual the Tennis campers have been down at the courts, the language students have been having fun in their classrooms and the dance campers have been practising their routine in the auditorium.
Unlike most days here, the whole camp gathered for a BBQ up at Prafandaz; a picturesque spot overlooking both leysin and Lake Geneva. After eating everyone divided into their element teams: Earth, Air, Fire and Water; all competing to become the champions of Festival Friday. We had relay races with every element facing each other and a tug of war to decide the winners.
As with every festival we ended with a song and dance... all the campers joined together again to enjoy the disco down in our auditorium. The music was pumping and everyone had a great time getting dressed up and letting their hair down!
