Summer Camp Zell am See, Austria
Focus on: English Camp
Here at Village Camps Zell am See, campers can choose from four different camps: Mountain and Lake Adventure, Film, German Language, or English Language Camp. This summer season, our two English Language teachers are Meg and Ian. Meg is from Michigan in the United States but lives in Seville, Spain where she works as an English teacher. The other other half of our English Language staff, Ian, comes from New York, and works as an Outdoor Education Instructor for other Village Camp programs.
English Camp classes last for three hours in the morning, and are followed by outdoor activities such as hiking, sports, and arts and crafts. Classes focus on speaking and learning functional language. Campers learn new vocabulary and there is a heavy concentration on camp related vocabulary and speaking exercises. Meg and Ian use a variety games and speaking activities to help campers communicate with one another and understand camp life.
In other news, tonight was International Night!! Campers put together skits, songs, dances, and even made traditional food from their homelands. Among the places represented were Croatia, Bulgaria, Italy, Russia, North and South America, and several Arab nations. There were even some very new and inventive cultures represented, including Antarctica and the magical land of Unicornia.
