Summer Camp Ardèche, France
Fun has begun!
We wasted no time at all in getting straight into our activities on Day 1 of Summer Camp.
Activity Group 1 and 2 got adventurous! Each group went exploring the chilly underground with Caving, learning the features and formations of a cave and how to return to the cave entrance by candlelight, working together as a team.
When not in the mountain cave, the group was Rock Climbing, scaling new heights overlooking the pretty nearby village of Salavas. With several different climbs available, trust was formed between campers to ensure safety until feet once again touched solid ground. Comfort zones were pushed, smiles were made and team work abound.
The campers of Les Francais progressed very fast in their first lesson, covering introductions, conversation, the calendar, the hopscotch game La Marelle, and more! Campers proved their artistic skills in sketching their own idea of France. C'est bien!
The afternoon saw the French group learn canoe skills and features of a river, in preparation for the upcoming Mini Descent, where on Thursday all campers will be paddling down stream to the magnificent Pont D'Arc.
After yet a filling dinner, campers were treated to awesome teamwork games, before heading to bed to sleep soundly.
