Summer Camp Chiclana, Spain

19th July 2016

Beach games and field games and survival skills!

Today was a great day. The sun took her first rest of the month, with overcast skies and blustery winds, but the thunder and light showers made our shelter building activity much more exciting!

In Spanish class we talked about the daily routine, and worked on some verb conjugation with games.

Our adventure campers got instinctive, working on some survival skills. We worked on camouflage and shelter building, using natural elements in the Enchanted Forest to build a shelter that would protect them from extreme weather. The rain came just in time for the kids to tuck under their roofs. We also worked on some basic first aid and survival skills.

Surfers had some great waves this morning. They are getting the hang of it so quick!

This afternoon some campers played kickball while others did a dance workshop. Afterwards, some campers headed to the pool to cool off and have fun, while others did an awesome graffiti arts and crafts project. "We are family" was written in lots of languages representing all of the campers here.

This evening we all headed to the beach to play an awesome game of "Squirrels." We ran around laughing and playing until we were tired. We finished the evening with one last game of Buggies Up! and then headed back to camp for a good nights sleep.

It was a great day and the cool skies were given a run for their money with the energy that was created by the campers!
