Summer Camp England
A spot of rain.
The summer sun was starting to take residence behind the typical heavy British clouds however the campers were not affected in any way and their spirits were higher than ever. Those in Activity and Adventure would be going mountain biking! They battled through tough terrain, swift bends, obstacles and much more while also experiencing the beautiful countryside of York along the way. However the adventurers were not the only ones to have an exciting start to the week. Performing Arts campers held auditions for their theatre performance next week with each camper expressing their amazing talents for a spot-light position in the show. Overall, the morning activities were a huge success and completely enjoyed by all.
Campers participated in various afternoon activities today including military challenge, music and ultimate Frisbee. Tonight was the hugely anticipated Carnival Night! A new addition to the evening activities at Village Camps in York, the night was an incredible success thanks to our very own Chrissy Greer. The campers participated in several entertaining games like card ninja, sumo wrestling, spat the cat and bucket head. They also had the privilege of learning line dancing with each colour group then performing the routine in front of the entire camp for a prize! Carnival Night was a fantastic event and I know the campers will remember this night for many years to come.
