Summer Camp England

MANCHESTER EXCURSION DAY

Excursion Saturday arrived with many excited campers eagerly preparing for a day to shop in England???s premier shopping paradise, The Trafford Centre. There were queues all day long on Friday for the bank, with many of our campers already knowing what they were going to buy today.

After having a well deserved sleep in, we had a traditional cooked English breakfast before getting ready to board our buses for the 2 hour journey to Manchester. The Yellows were the first group to arrive and after a short tour of the shopping centre they went to see the recently released movie, ???Ice Age: Continental Drift???. Although it was hard for some to follow in English, everyone said they really enjoyed it and could follow the whole story. The Yellow???s were given some shopping time and then at the end of the day, they competed against each other in what was the highlight of their day: the Laser Quest Challenge. Yellows were very tired coming home and went straight to bed having had an amazing day.

Our Reds and Blues went to Manchester shortly after the Yellows and were given a lot more time to shop. And wow, didn???t they shop. Glenn thought he might have had to get a trailer for all the shopping that was done. After the shopping, the Reds and Blues went to see the recently released movie, ???The Amazing Spiderman???, before finishing the day with dinner in the beautiful Oriental Food Court at the Trafford Centre.

Today was a great success with everyone reporting a great day. All of our campers attended all of their meetings on time, even if it meant having to run to get to the meeting on time. We had many campers arriving to their meetings out of breath. They were all very polite, courteous and in great humour all day and it was a great pleasure to have gone on this excursion today. Tomorrow we go to York, for our cultural trip to see the beautiful sites of the city beside our college.
