Excursion to York!
Yesterday was our second excursion of the weekend. We spent the morning at camp, campers got a bit of a lie in after their busy day of shopping in Manchester on Saturday, then spent most of the morning relaxing and tidying their rooms. After lunch in the dining room, everyone poured on to the buses and we made our way to York. Once we arrived everyone got some time with their counselors for a little tour of the city, giving the campers a chance to get their bearings and see some of the sites, like the Minster Cathedral, the shambles and of course Betty's tea rooms! There was then some time to go shopping, and we arrived back at camp in time for dinner! In addition to yesterday's excursion we had talent night, so after dinner the entire camp piled into the theater. We saw some amazing performances, by both campers and staff! Blue boys showed us how to do Zumba and the yellow girls got everyone up and dancing the Macarena! This morning we began week 2, so campers were back into their programmes, all very excited to get stuck back in after the weekend away!
- Breakfast: Cereal, fruit and yoghurt
- Lunch: Meatloaf with tomato sauce and garlic and spinach mushrooms
- Dinner: Shepherds pie and cous cous
