Summer Camp England

22nd July 2012

VISITING YORK!

The English summer sunshine once again shined down us and created the perfect day for touring the local historical city of York. After another well deserved sleep, and a traditional cooked breakfast, our campers were allowed a informal ???lazy??? morning to rest, clean their rooms and enjoy some free time with many of their new friends.

However, some did not have the ability to rest as the rooms took a little longer than normal to clean. By mid morning we did have the cleanest rooms in England, with each camper aiming to win the Village Camps cleanest room competition. The Parents of our campers would be very proud of the rooms that we visited.

After lunch each of the groups travelled to York where they walked around some of the different tourist attractions and were given a historical lesson of the importance of these sites to the city of York. Each of the groups were then tasked to replicate their history lesson in a single photo in front of that particular site. Needless to say we had some fantastic photos and some very creative minds working hard to win our Photo Challenge that is now proudly displayed in our Reception. Some of these photos are evident on our website.

The lovely day was finished with what was perhaps the best ever Talent Night at Village Camps York. We had an array of dancers, DJ???s, singers, basketball tricksters and our very own VC Counsellor Band, AC-BC performing a classic AC-DC track.

A great day, with a focus of kicking back, relaxing and having fun, with the idea of recharging our batteries, getting ready for another fantastic week at Village Camps York 2012.
