Summer Camp Leysin, Switzerland

Already half way through the first week!

We are already a quarter of the way through the session and it feels as though the campers only arrived yesterday. Time flies when we are all having fun.

This morning the Greenies had a challenging and exciting time rock climbing in the quarry with our climbing expert: Gideon. The sports campers travelled down to the School Gym for a fun filled morning of badminton. The Yellow and Red adventure campers had an early start as they had to hike back to camp after spending the night in their hand built shelters constructed in the forest. The Blue adventure campers spent their morning learning about how to survive outdoors by building shelters and fires. As per usual the Tennis campers were on the bus down to courts before everyone else, the French and English language classes were enjoyed by all and the Dance campers got their groove on with our dance expert: Dancing Lisa.

This afternoon, the Yellows and Greens joined together for their activity. They played loads of games in the sun and had a refreshing water fight with their counsellors to cool off. There was a massive choice of activities available to the Reds and Blues this afternoon from rock climbing to yoga. There was also tennis, bouldering, mini-golf, squash, swimming, archery, fitness and art.

After everyone had had a rest and had a chance to enjoy some good food the evening activities began. The Greens had an evening of decorating their play room with all their wonderful creations and the Yellows played team games where they competed against each other for points to win the game. The Reds got their glad rags on and enjoyed a casino night, each camper was given a handful of pretend Village Camps money and the counsellors ran the tables. The Blues walked to the camp-fire spot and enjoyed a meal cooked over the open fire, with some games thrown in for good measure.
