Summer Camp Leysin, Switzerland

14th August 2010

Excursion Day!

Today was excursion day which meant all the campers left Leysin in their colour groups to experience some of Switzerland's finest attractions.

The Reds travelled to the Cailler chocolate factory. They had a tour of the factory, it showed a short history of Cailler, the manufacturing process and then there was a room dedicated to chocolate tasting with loads of free samples. After filling up on free chocolate the Red campers drove to Fribourg by coach for some retail therapy. Once the kids had finished shopping they headed back to camp just in time for dinner. After food the Reds relaxed down in the auditorium with a good film.

The Yellows started early, they hopped on a coach and headed down to Vevey where they spent their morning shopping. After lunch the kids headed to the Tropiquarium and Zoo, they had their afternoon in the Zoo. They headed back to camp in time for diner. A game of Fruit Salad followed dinner, this consisted of team games where the campers had to use various fruits to complete tasks.

The Blue campers travelled to the capital city of Bern where they visited the Bern Bear Park, where they had the opportunity to view some very impressive bears. After the park the Blues had free time in Bern to shop and see the sights. The Blues didn't head back to camp for dinner as they stayed out and went to Bulle to spent their evening in Fun Planet where they could bowl and play the arcades.
