Summer Camp Leysin, Switzerland

23rd July 2011

Departure Day - Good Bye!

Today, sadly, saw the departure of the majority of the campers. Some were up before the sun and onto trains before the rest had woken. Throughout the rest of the day the remaining campers were either taken to meet planes or trains or picked up by smiling (and some teary) parents. Those campers staying on for another session took a trip to Vevey on the shore of Lake Geneva. The cleaning staff and counsellors, on the other hand, will be working late to ensure that everything is ready for the new group of campers arriving tomorrow.

Many friendships have been formed over these two weeks and departures are often hard. Amongst the smiles and hugs were many exchanges of contact details and more than a few teary eyes!

Parents, we thank you for trusting your most precious possessions with us for these past two weeks (or more). We hope that you have enjoyed our journal entries and all the pictures placed online. Make sure that when your campers arrive home they have a chance to see them also. We also hope that next summer you will again consider Village Camps, Switzerland or one of our other camps across the world.
