Summer Camp Leysin, Switzerland

11th July 2013

Sunny day for International Day!

Today is a beautiful day here in Leysin and it's also our International Day, how exciting! The Greenies are preparing for International Night this morning, cooking yummy food and making skits for their country Greenland. The Adventure and Sports Camp are out on either Rafting for the Blues or High Ropes for Reds and Yellows. They will having a picnic for lunch. Dance and Film Academy are working hard to be ready for tomorrow, Tennis campers are warming up for their Tournament tomorrow and Language classes are finishing their projects as well.

Still a gorgeous day in Switzerland this afternoon. The campers who played United Nations yesterday are now preparing for their countries for tonight, either cooking, making costumes and getting their skits ready. The other half of camp is out in the forest for their turn at United Nations-Capture the Flag. Everyone is pretty excited about tonight and we are certainly going to see some amazing performances!

Tonight International Night starts with a meal prepared by the campers and their counselors with dishes from all over the world. Each country represented has a little food stand with a few typical dishes. After dinner, everybody heads down to the auditorium to see the performances including songs, dances, skits and cultural facts about the different countries represented. A chance for the campers to share their culture and learn more about where their friends are coming from.
